MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 2020 UPDATE

Good Morning Families

Due to the continuing unhealthy air quality in our area we have decided to cancel the remainder of the Summer 2020 Session. The safety of our participants and coaches is of the utmost importance, and while we would love to continue meeting for classes, it is currently not safe to do so.

If your participant had one week of classes left (Diablo Creek, Lone Tree), you will be credited $20 towards a future registration. If your participant had two weeks of classes left (Boundary Oak), you will be credited $40 towards a future registration. Alternatively, you can request these amounts be refunded to you, or that they be donated to the chapter.

The current assessment day, Saturday, August 29 is currently still on schedule. HOWEVER, the assessments may be cancelled in case air quality does not improve or if it worsens.

We look forward to beginning our Fall 2020 Session, starting the week of September 21st. Until that time, please stay healthy and safe.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2020 UPDATE

Hello Families

We hope you are staying safe and healthy. Please note that Saturday, August 22nd classes have been cancelled due to unhealthy air quality in our area. For Weather Updates on programming you can check out our "Weather Update" page

Class cancellations this week due to unhealthy air quality have affected our planned Summer Schedule and Assessment schedule; as a result we will be making adjustments to the schedule for the remainder of the Summer Session. Please see below:

Class Make Ups:

  • Diablo Creek Golf Course will be on their final week of class next week (August 24th - August 29) with the exception of the Monday and Wednesday classes; if your participant is in either of these classes you will be notified separately.
  • Lone Tree Golf Course will be on their final week of classes from Monday, August 24 through Saturday, August 29.
  • Boundary Oak Golf Course will be on their 7th week of classes next week (August 24 - August 29), and will be on their final week of class from August 31 through September 5th.

Please remember that our scheduling is listed by weeks. Depending on the day of the week your participant attends, their specific ending day will vary.

Assessments:

Because at this point make up classes will be conflicting with assessment dates at Diablo Creek as well as other scheduled programming, we will be moving ALL registrations for assessments to Saturday, August 29th from 3 to 6 pm at Diablo Creek Golf Course. This will be the only assessment day this session.

For questions, please email [email protected]

PREVIOUS UPDATE BELOW

Published: Thursday, August 13, 2020

Good Afternoon Families

We hope you are having a safe and healthy Summer! We are wrapping up the Summer Session with classes scheduled to end on Saturday, August 22nd at Diablo Creek and Lone Tree Golf Course, and on Saturday, August 29th, at Boundary Oak Golf Course.

Below is an update of upcoming Fall Programming and other important items to remember. Please make sure to read this update in its entirety as there may be information that applies to you.

Fall Registration & Fall Session

Registration for the Fall Session will open on Saturday, August 15, 2020. To register, please visit our registration website and log in/create an account to register. If you need assistance creating an account, check out the "How to Register for an Account" page under the "Parent Resources" menu.

The Fall Session will run for 8 weeks from Monday, September 21st through Saturday, November 14th. The specific starting and ending dates for classes will depend on the day of the week for which your junior is registered. All classes will be limited to 10 participants for 2 coaches (5:1 ratio).

Classes are expected to take place at Lone Tree Golf Course, Diablo Creek Golf Course, Boundary Oak Golf Course, Hiddenbrooke Golf Club. We are still in the process of confirming Buchanan Fields as of Thursday, August 13 at 1:30 pm.

Assessments

Assessment dates for the Summer Session will be published on Saturday, August 15th on our registration website. Registration is required for assessments; we may not be able to accommodate drop-ins. If you are new to First Tee, assessments are the process by which participants certify that they have completed the requirements at each level before being eligible to move up to the next level. You can learn more about assessments by visiting the "Assessments & Certification" page on our website.

Girls Golf

The Girls Golf Program will transition to run on the same date ranges as our regular sessions. The Girls Golf Fall Session registration will open on Saturday, August 15th. Classes will meet from the week of September 21st through the week of November 11. There will be two Girls Golf groups. The 7-9 years old group will meet on Mondays, and the 10-17 years old group will meet on Wednesdays. This change has been implemented to allow more girls in each age group to participate in the program, and to account for available coaching staff. You can learn more about the Girls Golf Program and view dates on the Girls Golf Page.

Registration Credits from Spring Session

For families with a available credit from the Spring Session, that is, families who did not request we rollover their registration to the Summer Session, please note that we will not be automatically rolling over registrations moving forward. If you would like to apply your available credit to the Fall Session, please proceed through the registration process as you normally would, then once reaching the final page in the checkout process (where payment is entered) please email us at [email protected] with the following information:
  • Account holder's name
  • Participant Name
  • Class for which you are trying to register
After you have sent the email, we will finish the registration process from our end. Please remember that all registrations must be completed within a 48-hour window, after the window expires the registration is automatically marked as "abandoned" and you will need to start over. Make sure to begin the registration process early as classes are very likely to reach capacity. Even with an available credit, we may not be able to complete your junior's registration if the class has already reached capacity.

Family Orientation

If you are new to First Tee Contra Costa, your participant and an adult will be required to take our Family Orientation. This orientation will cover policies and procedures in place at each of our golf courses and will include important information about the upcoming experience (what to bring to class, what happens if it rains, etc.). Families who have already taken this new orientation (effective June 2020) will not be required to take it again, but are welcome to review it again for a refresher course. All participants must have this orientation completed before being allowed to join any class or programming.

Fall Tournaments

Pending course availability, we will be scheduling junior tournaments during the Fall Season. We will share more details as they become available.

Safety

Please continue keeping your guard up and staying safe. Face coverings should be worn whenever close contact (less than 6 ft) is anticipated, and the face covering should cover the mouth and nose. All participants and families in attendance must observe these safety rules. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from class and could result in the program being suspended until further notice.
